Drop Diet: Day 2

•June 16, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Well, as you probably know, I just finished Day One. It has not been easy since I do not like most fruits. Today, I have had:

   –   2 Apples

   –   1 Orange

   –   1/2 Cantalope

   –   2 Handfuls of Grapes

   –   2 Bowls of Cabbage Soup

I am feeling very hungry right now, but that is because the first day is all about cleaning out your system, so everything has run right through me (No graphic details provided). Tomorrow is nothing by veggies, and I love veggies! I have already made my salad with lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, spinach, pickles, and hot sauce (The hot sauce is a non-additive to the meal since it does not add anything to your body). I will also have my soup again. Note to those that are thinking about this: the soup lasts for two days, then you have to make more!

Here are the diet details on Day Two:

All vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed with all the fresh raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. Try to eat leafy green veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat all the veggies you want along with your soup. At dinner time you may reward yourself with a baked potato and butter. Eat all the soup you want this day also, but don’t eat any fruit.

So, my menu is as follows for Tuesday:

Breakfast:

   –   Pickle

   –   Handful of carrots

   –   V8 Juice

Lunch:

   –   Salad (Made as above)

   –   Cabbage Soup

Snack:

   –   Celery

   –   Salad (Made as above)

Dinner:

   –   Pickle

   –   Steamed broccoli, carrots, squash, zucchini, mushrooms, and califlower.

   –   Baked potato with butter

   –   Salad

Keep your fingers crossed for me! After tomorrow’s fruit and veggies combo day it is time to weigh in and see how I have done the last three days. The diet guide says I should have lost between 5 and 7 pounds!

My workout tomorrow will consist of Zumba! and walking 2.5 miles. My trainer today told me to do cardio five days this week.

Another day… Another diet…

•June 15, 2009 • 3 Comments

Well, I am starting another diet tomorrow. I began working out two weeks ago in preparation for this. It is a very intense diet, but you can loose between 10 and 17 pounds in a week. I am hoping this works. If it does, I will continue it through to August 31st. I want to look good for the “12 Angry Men” auditions!!

Other than the dieting, life is good. I just turned 22, and had a great birthday weekend. I just closed ‘Blithe Spirit’ out at the Pull-Tight Player’s Theatre. I auditioned for another original show today, but haven’t heard anything yet. I am also auditioning for ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ on Saturday.

I’ve been trying to think of my reasons for wanting to loose weight, and have come up with the following list:

   –   Acting, singing, and dancing are rough on my body. I have a tough time with harder moves because of my weight, and I am very serious about wanting my acting career to work.

   –   Health. My doctors have told me that I really need to loose the weight because I am pre-diabetic, and am at risk for several diseases.

   –   Genetics. My mother had cancer and my father had a heart attack at 40. I do not want to die young.

So, now I am going to list my goals for loosing this weight:

   –   Gain coordination

   –   Hit my goal weight of 200 pounds

   –   Gain flexibility

Well, here is the actual information on the diet for day one, which is tomorrow for me. The key is to eat the soup every time you get hungry and stay hydrated.

Fat-Burning Soup Recipe:

2 large bunches of green onions

2 bell peppers

2 28 oz. cans of tomatoes (diced)

1 bunch of celery

1 large head of green cabbage

1 pkg. Lipton Onion Soup mix

6 bouillon cubs (optional)

Several cloves of garlic or bottled garlic (optional)

Several bay leaves (optional)

Cut vegetables in small bite-sized pieces. Put all vegetables except tomatoes in pot. You can just cover with water or add 3 1/2 to 4 cups of water. Boil fast for 10 minutes. Cut heat down and simmer for approximately 30 minutes until veggies are tender. Add tomatoes along with juice. Bring to boil and heat thoroughly. Add soup mix, bouillon, and simmer for 10 minutes. May be seasoned with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, oregano, basil and thyme to taste.

DAY ONE:

All fruits except for bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want except bananas. Cantaloupes and watermelons are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat your soup and fruits the first day. For drinks, unsweetened tea, cranberry juice or water.

Workout schedule for tomorrow:

   –   Weights

   –   Walk 2.5 miles

   –   Bike 5 miles

Starting weight: 391.4 pounds (This is very rough for me to post, but I hope no one will use this against me.)

Check back tomorrow for Day Two information, and see how Day One went!

PS! I love encouragement!!!

late night session

late night session

woman of the night
begs for a dollar
she’ll do anything for it
just give her a hollar
when the sun goes down
she begins her strut
hoping for the right money
to get her out of this rut
before one begins to judge
one must look beneath the skin
to search the soul inside
and find the human that lies within
crying as the sun comes up
for she knows that she has failed
unable to escape this live
of which she is forever jailed
she heads home to the kids
for its time for them to wake
she sells her body in the night
simply for their sake
pick them up from school
then a piano lesson
tuck them into bed
and head out for a late night session

I relate well to her…

Just watch this video! I relate to her. When everyone thought she couldn’t do it because of her looks, she proved them wrong with her amazing voice.

I kinda feel the same way, yet see myself judging based on looks.

I have a dog.

Stella.

She has the most basic of needs. Food, water, outside time, and sleep. When I provide these needs, she is the happiest of all. When I sleep in, and don’t take her out at 6:30 AM, she gets whinny. Then, I take her out and everything is fine again.

I will be the first to admit that I have accidentally skipped feeding her. Not intentionally, so don’t call animal control, but accidentally. The other day, I made it all the way to rehearsal and realized that I forgot to give her dinner. I knew I would not be home for a good while, but decided to stay and just make it up to her later with a cookie, a privilege reserved only for going poo-poo (we celebrate the small stuff at my house). I got home, gave her dinner and a treat, and she was a happy camper.

She has this blind love for me that I have dreamed of having for other people for so long, and dreamed of getting for not so long. When we are wronged, it sits with us for years to come, even when we tell ourselves, and others that we have forgiven and forgotten. We move on with our lives, but never fully recover. A little piece of us is always thinking about that incident.

How do we get that blind love? How do we open ourselves up so completely and fully that no matter what wrongs we have committed, what faults we have, are completely masked by love? Does this exist? If so, how in the world do I find it?
